During a Monday evening service at the Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, Sydney, a disturbing incident unfolded. A bishop and several churchgoers were reportedly stabbed, though fortunately, no injuries are life-threatening.

The attack occurred during a Monday evening sermon at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley, Sydney’s suburban area. The bishop, identified as Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, sustained multiple stab wounds, and several other parishioners were also attacked. A 15-year-old suspect has been apprehended by the New South Wales police. An officer was injured during the arrest, and there was some damage to vehicles following the stabbing.

Prior Incident: Wakeley’s Attack After Bondi Stabbing in Sydney

Paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the wounded at the scene, and they are currently receiving further treatment in the hospital. This attack comes just two days after the tragic stabbing incident at Westfield Bondi Junction, where six individuals lost their lives. The Bondi attacker, 40-year-old Joel Cauchi, reportedly targeted women. Five of the six victims in the Bondi attack were women, and twelve people sustained injuries, with eight still hospitalized.

The New South Wales police are actively investigating both incidents, and additional information is expected as the investigations progress.
