New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan has proven himself as the Bollywood king by delivering three consecutive hit films – ‘Pathan,’ ‘Jawaan,’ and ‘Danki’ within a single year. All three movies shattered records and set new benchmarks at the box office. The superstar was honored with the ‘Indian of the Year Award 2023‘ for his outstanding contributions. Reflecting on the past, he shared inspiring thoughts during his extended speech.
Shah Rukh Khan, expressing his preference for roles filled with hope, emphasized the importance of maintaining tranquility while working hard during the ‘Indian of the Year’ award ceremony. He stated, “I’m someone who enjoys portraying roles filled with aspirations. I believe goodness yields positive results. I portray cheerful characters. A few years ago, some of my films faced setbacks, and people said my time was over. Challenges taught me to silently continue working with dignity.”
Highlighting the success of his third film in 2023, ‘Danki,’ it has earned a remarkable 1.30 crore rupees on its 20th day, bringing its domestic box office total to 219.27 crores. Reports suggest the film is progressing towards a global box office achievement of 500 crores. Shah Rukh Khan’s enduring spirit and dedication shine through as he continues to triumph on the cinematic stage.
Receiving the ‘Indian of the Year’ award at the News 18 function, the actor conveyed his joy through an emotional speech, expressing gratitude. He revealed, “A while ago, several of my films were facing consecutive failures, and according to film analysts, my career was on the brink of ending. My personal life was also in turmoil, but these circumstances made me stronger and taught me a profound lesson in life.”
