Nayanthara’s 75th movie, ‘Annapoorani,’ got in trouble because some people were upset about religious issues. The movie was taken off the OTT platform, and the makers said sorry publicly. Nayanthara and others even got a police case in parts of North India. Now, Nayanthara has explained things in a note, saying sorry for unintentionally hurting religious feelings.
Nayanthara shared a note on Twitter, saying, “Spread Positivity 🙏 God Bless 🙏.” In the note, she talks about her feelings and the recent issues with the movie ‘Annapoorni.’ Making the movie wasn’t just about cinema but also about inspiring people to be strong and not give up. The movie was meant to show that we can overcome challenges with determination.
Nayanthara said that while trying to share a positive message, they might have unintentionally hurt someone. They didn’t expect the movie to be removed from the OTT platform after being shown in theaters. She and her team never wanted to upset anyone, and she personally believes in God, visiting temples often.
Nayanthara apologized sincerely to those who felt hurt, clarifying that ‘Annapoorni’ was meant to uplift and inspire, not cause distress. In her two-decade journey in the film industry, her goal has always been to spread positivity and encourage learning from each other.
Earlier this month, Ramesh Solanki, who started the Hindu IT cell, complained against Zee and Netflix, calling them “anti-Hindu.” He mentioned that during the joyous anticipation of the Ram Mandir event, the movie ‘Annapoorani’ was released on Netflix, produced by Zee Studios, Naad Sstudios, and Trident Arts.
VHP spokesperson Shriraj Nair also warned Netflix to remove the film. In a tweet on January 9, he said, “We are strictly warning you @NetflixIndia to immediately withdraw this evil movie of yours or else be ready to face legal consequences and @BajrangDalOrg style action.”
