New Delhi, March 3 (PTI) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a day-long meeting of his Council of Ministers on Sunday, focusing on crafting a vision document for “Viksit Bharat: 2047” and formulating a detailed action plan for the next five years. The gathering also scrutinized a 100-day agenda to expedite implementation after the formation of a new government in May.

During the session, Prime Minister Modi urged his ministerial colleagues to vigorously seek public support during the forthcoming elections. He underscored the government’s initiatives to bolster development and ensure the welfare of all societal segments.

“We will meet again after winning (polls),” Modi expressed optimistically, emphasizing the collective responsibility to engage with citizens.

The roadmap for “Viksit Bharat” has been in the works for over two years, entailing a “whole of government” approach and extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including state governments, academia, industry bodies, civil society, and youth groups. More than 2,700 meetings, workshops, and seminars solicited suggestions from over 20 lakh youths.

The “Viksit Bharat” blueprint encompasses a comprehensive national vision, aspirations, goals, and action points. It covers critical areas such as economic growth, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ease of living, ease of doing business, infrastructure, and social welfare.

During the meeting, several ministries presented their perspectives, likely marking the final congregation before the Lok Sabha polls are announced. Presentations delved into various issues, aligning with Modi’s directive for “actionable, measurable, and clearly defined plans” for the new government.

Modi reiterated confidence in his government’s prospects for a third consecutive term, setting ambitious targets of securing 370 seats for the BJP and over 400 for the ruling alliance in the Lok Sabha polls.
