The Public Policy Secretary at the Maldivian President’s Office, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, has officially communicated that the island nation has requested the withdrawal of Indian military personnel by March 15. According to the SunOnline newspaper, he emphasized that under the policy of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and this administration, Indian military personnel are not permitted to remain in the Maldives
Maldives and India established a core group for troop withdrawal, holding its inaugural meeting with Indian High Commissioner Munu Mahawar in attendance. Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim stated the agenda aimed at requesting troop withdrawal by March 15.
Pro-China leader Mohamed Muizzu, who took office in November, officially asked India to withdraw its military personnel.
