In a flurry of political activity, expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam and AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran engaged in late-night seat-sharing discussions with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Panneerselvam emphasized that his candidates would contest under the iconic Two Leaves symbol, a symbol deeply intertwined with the AIADMK’s identity.

In other developments, the Congress party, on March 12, unveiled its second list comprising 43 candidates for the impending Lok Sabha elections. Notably, Kamal Nath’s son, Nakul Nath, has been fielded once again from the Chhindwara constituency in Madhya Pradesh, a stronghold where Congress secured victory in the 2019 elections.

Meanwhile, upheaval surfaced in Haryana as Chief Minister Khattar and his entire council of ministers, comprising 13 members, tendered their resignations to the governor. This move coincided with the unraveling of the ruling BJP-JJP coalition, although official statements from party leaders on both sides are pending.

In a reaffirmation of its electoral strategy, Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’Brien reiterated the party’s decision to contest independently in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. TMC remains steadfast in its resolve to vie for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, alongside a couple of seats in Assam and one in Meghalaya. The party is poised to announce its candidate for the Tura Lok Sabha seat in Meghalaya imminently.

On March 11, the BJP’s Central Election Committee convened its second meeting to finalize the party’s roster of candidates for the impending Lok Sabha elections. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders meticulously reviewing the list of potential candidates across various states, the BJP continues its collaborative efforts with numerous regional parties nationwide as it strives for an augmented electoral mandate.

Stay tuned for more live updates as the electoral landscape continues to evolve in the lead-up to the general elections anticipated to transpire in April-May.
