After nearly two decades of incarceration in a Dubai jail, five Indian nationals from Telangana were finally released and returned home to Hyderabad on February 21. Their freedom comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The five individuals had been serving a lengthy sentence in connection with the death of a Nepalese national. The release was facilitated by the UAE government, marking a significant moment of emotional reunion for the prisoners and their families.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party asserted credit for the successful negotiations leading to the prisoners’ release. They attributed the efforts to the party’s Working President, KT Rama Rao (KTR), highlighting his proactive role in securing their freedom.
