Tough Penalties for Exam Cheating and Paper Leaks
The recently introduced Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024, proposes stringent measures to combat exam paper leaks, cheating, and other malpractices plaguing the education system. Under the bill, perpetrators could face imprisonment ranging from three to ten years, depending on the severity of the offense, along with hefty fines of up to Rs 1 crore. This initiative aims to address the rampant issue of exam fraud, which not only undermines the integrity of educational assessments but also jeopardizes the futures of millions of students across the country.
