A chartered flight from India to Moscow via Uzbekistan has crashed in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province. The aircraft, identified as a French-made Dassault Falcon 10 jet manufactured in 1978, was reportedly on an ambulance mission and had at least six people on board.

Russian aviation authorities confirmed the incident, stating that the charter flight originated from India, transited through Uzbekistan, and was en route to Moscow. The plane crashed overnight in a remote and mountainous area of Badakhshan in northern Afghanistan.

While the local police have yet to confirm the cause of the crash or the number of casualties, the Civil Aviation Ministry of India clarified that the aircraft was not an Indian scheduled or charter flight. The ministry specified that the plane is a Moroccan-registered small aircraft.

The unfolding situation raises concerns about aviation safety and emergency response efforts in the region. Further details on the crash, including any survivors and the circumstances leading to the incident, are awaited.
