The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently unveiled its election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra,’ on April 14. The manifesto launch event in New Delhi saw the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Among the key promises in the BJP election manifesto is the introduction of a ‘One nation, one election’ system, along with a common electoral roll. Additionally, the party has committed to implementing a law to counter exam paper leaks.
The manifesto’s creation was overseen by a committee led by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, which met twice during its formulation process. The BJP reportedly received over 1.5 million suggestions for its manifesto, with 400,000 coming through the NaMo app and 1.1 million submitted via video submissions.
The Election Manifesto Committee comprised 27 members, with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh serving as its chairman. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was appointed as the coordinator, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal was named the co-coordinator. The committee also included 24 other members.
