The upcoming addition to the Aashiqui series will star Tripti Dimri alongside Kartik Aaryan. Tripti, acknowledged for her performance in Animal, is set to take on the lead role in this romantic musical backed by Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar, and Anurag Basu. Sources close to one of the cast from Aashiqui 3 disclosed that Tripti Dimri was chosen for her potential chemistry with Kartik Aaryan, attributing her rising popularity post-Animal’s success. The decision to cast her as the female lead has been finalized after extensive discussions among the makers.
Initial speculation suggested Tara Sutaria might join the cast, fueled by sightings of her and Kartik together. However, producer Mukesh Bhatt clarified in an interview with Times Now that no actress would be considered until the musical aspect of the film is prepared, emphasizing the importance of music within the Aashiqui franchise.
Aashiqui 3 is scheduled to commence filming in early 2024, promising a fresh narrative for the series, building anticipation for an on-screen romance.
Tripti Dimri also has other projects in the pipeline, such as “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam” with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, and “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video” alongside Rajkummar Rao.
Tripti gained recognition for her roles in “Laila Majnu” (2018), “Bulbbul” (2020), and “Qala” (2022) alongside Babil Khan and Swastika Mukherjee. Kartik Aaryan’s recent appearance was in “Satyaprem Ki Katha” opposite Kiara Advani, receiving positive reviews, and he’s set to star in Kabir Khan’s “Chandu Champion.”
