In the wake of heightened security concerns following threats to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma finds himself under the radar with increased security measures ahead of the release of his upcoming film “Ruslaan.” Mumbai Police, having reviewed Salman Khan’s security after he received a threat from a social media account purportedly belonging to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in November 2023, has now extended its protective cover to Aayush Sharma as well.

According to a report published in Mid-Day, a source close to the matter revealed that in light of the threats received by Salman Khan , the Mumbai Police has taken proactive measures to safeguard Aayush Sharma, who is gearing up for the promotional activities of his action thriller. The source disclosed, “Since Aayush will be out and about promoting his action thriller, he has been assigned cops for his protection. The actor will also travel in Salman’s bulletproof vehicle.”

The decision to beef up security comes in the wake of growing concerns over the safety of Bollywood celebrities amidst escalating threats and incidents of harassment. Salman Khan, known for his larger-than-life persona, has been the target of threats in the past, prompting authorities to bolster his security arrangements. Last year, Salman acquired a bulletproof car and was reportedly authorized to carry a personal weapon for added protection.

Under the Y+ security provided by Mumbai Police, Salman Khan is accompanied by one police officer and four constables who reside with him, while two additional constables are stationed outside his Bandra residence. The security detail includes four armed security personnel to ensure round-the-clock protection.

In March 2023, Salman Khan’s assistant received a threatening email, prompting the authorities to file an FIR against Lawrence Bishnoi and his associate Goldie Brar at Bandra Police Station. The incident underscored the persistent threats faced by Bollywood celebrities, leading to heightened security protocols.

In a separate incident in December 2023, Aayush Sharma’s car was involved in a collision with another vehicle driven by an allegedly inebriated individual in Mumbai’s Khar area. Fortunately, Aayush was not present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. However, his 31-year-old driver, Arman Mehandi Hasan Khan, sustained injuries to his head and right leg in the collision.

Aayush Sharma, best known for his role in the 2018 film “Loveyatri,” was last seen sharing the screen with Salman Khan in the 2021 film “Antim.” Currently, Aayush has “Ruslaan” in his pipeline, slated for release in 2024.
