The President emphasized that the grand edifice of a developed India rests on four pillars: youth power, women power, farmers, and the economically disadvantaged. These pillars, she asserted, form the foundation upon which the nation’s progress and prosperity stand. Through targeted policies and initiatives, the government aims to empower these sections of society, fostering inclusive growth and equitable opportunities.

President Murmu extolled the virtues of good governance and transparency, highlighting the government’s efforts to streamline processes and create a conducive environment for business and innovation. The reduction in inflation, the surge in startup registrations, and the expansion of the taxpayer base under the Goods and Services Tax regime were cited as indicators of India’s economic resurgence.

In her address, President Murmu reiterated the government’s commitment to women-led development, exemplified by initiatives such as the women’s reservation bill. By prioritizing duties over rights, the government aims to instill a sense of responsibility among citizens, ensuring a balance between rights and obligations.

Looking ahead, President Murmu expressed confidence in the constructive deliberations expected during the Budget session. She urged parliamentarians to work towards a shared vision of progress and prosperity, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

As President Murmu concluded her address, the symbolism of her arrival in a buggy at Parliament House, accompanied by the ceremonial ‘sengol’ (sceptre), underscored the dignity and solemnity of the occasion.
