On Monday, January 22, there’s a special ceremony for the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya. Because of this, many states and the central government have declared a half-day holiday for offices and closed schools, shops selling meat, and liquor shops. It’s a significant and auspicious event.

The ceremony for Lord Ram is really important for millions of Hindu devotees in India. People are getting ready for worship and celebrations happening in different parts of the country. It’s a big and special event for followers of Hinduism.

On January 22, due to the Lord Ram ceremony:

Banks and insurance companies all over India will be closed for half of the day.

Central government offices and institutions will close until 2:30 pm.

In New Delhi, major government hospitals like AIIMS and Safdarjung will also be closed until 2:30 pm, except for critical and emergency services.

State government offices

On January 22

  • Half-day closing for offices in Delhi, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha, Assam, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Tripura.
  • In Goa, all government offices will be closed, and Himachal Pradesh declares a full holiday.
  • Schools will be closed in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, and Puducherry.
  • Educational institutions in Haryana, Assam, and Tripura will have a half-day.
  • In Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia and its schools will remain closed until 2:30 pm.
  • Liquor shops closed in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.
  • Casinos in Goa will be closed for eight hours from 8 am on January 22.
  • Ayodhya has massive security, and preparations are on to welcome devotees with saffron flags, Lord Ram cutouts, and religious posters.

On January 22, at 12:20 pm, Priest Lakshmi Kant Dixit from Varanasi will perform the special ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be there for this important and auspicious event.
