In line with the spirit of ‘Antyodaya’, the Uttarakhand government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, embarked on a significant initiative to distribute essential items to registered construction workers across the state. On February 16, special camps were organized in all districts of Uttarakhand to distribute about 25,000 blankets, umbrellas, and 15,000 sanitary napkins among the registered workers.

Earlier, in January, Chief Minister Dhami had directed the distribution of blankets to over three lakh registered workers in the state, emphasizing the government’s commitment to their welfare. The recent distribution, coordinated by public representatives and administrative officers under the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Labor Department, continues this sequence of compassionate outreach.

In addition to the distribution of essential items, a free health checkup was conducted for approximately 25,000 workers, underscoring the government’s holistic approach to worker welfare. The initiative reflects a broader commitment to ensuring the well-being and dignity of laborers in Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami kickstarted the campaign on January 31, 2024, by distributing blankets to registered workers near the IT Park located on Sahastradhara Road. The government’s decision to extend the reach of this program further underscores its dedication to uplift the lives of those in need.

The efforts of the Uttarakhand government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s leadership, exemplify the principles of inclusive governance and social welfare. By prioritizing the needs of registered construction workers and facilitating access to essential items and healthcare services, the government reaffirms its commitment to serving the marginalized sections of society.

This initiative not only addresses immediate needs but also reflects a broader vision of empowerment and social justice in Uttarakhand. As the Uttarakhand Government continues to expand its outreach and initiatives, it sets a commendable example for other regions to follow in ensuring the welfare and dignity of all citizens.
